Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezhkian, presidents of Russia and Iran, spoke on the phone.
The IRNA news agency reported that Mr. Putin said in this conversation that his country is ready to participate in mediation efforts to end the war.
This call was made on the eve of the meeting of the two officials in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
