The advisor to the commander of the Revolutionary Guards said that the traffic routes in the Strait of Hormuz, considered "illegal" by Iran, will soon be blocked.

According to the Fars news agency, Muhammad Reza Naqdi said: "These restricted lanes were created by blasting and destroying parts of rock passages in this strategic waterway and used by small oil smuggling boats."

He emphasized that "the Strait of Hormuz is closed, but there are people who smuggle oil in small vessels and transfer it to tankers."

This while American officials say that the Strait of Hormuz is open and the amount of oil transfer from the area has reached the pre-war level.
