Hamas called the October 7 attacks "a turning point in the history of the struggle".
On the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks on Israeli captives, Hamas described October 7 as a "historic turning point" in its "ongoing campaign project" by publishing a statement.
In a statement published by Hamas in the Palestinian media, this ground offensive is mentioned as a "natural response" to the "bitter suffering" inflicted by Israeli captives.
The statement emphasizes that the perception that the clash with Israeli captives began on October 7, 2023 is "a clear distortion of reality and motives" and that the conflict is not yet over.
Hamas accuses Israel of committing genocide; a charge that captives rejected.
Following Hamas's October 7 ground assault, Israel killed more than 74,000 Palestinians during its retaliatory operation and turned much of the strip into ruins. According to Hamas, since the ceasefire agreement last October, close to 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in attacks on captives in Israel.
Katab Qassam (Hamas's military wing) also published a graphic image of a paraglider flying through a ruined section of the border fence in a separate Telegram post.
This image refers to the paragliders that crossed the captives' border during the attacks three years ago.
