"Informal" meeting of the Executive Board of the International Energy Agency to review the release of oil and diesel reserves

According to two EU diplomats, the International Energy Agency's board of directors will hold an informal meeting today at 1:00 p.m. local time to review the plan to release oil and diesel stockpiles.

Reuters news agency quoted these two diplomats and added that representatives of EU member states had previously discussed this release plan.

Last week, the G7 countries, under pressure from US President Donald Trump, agreed to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from their emergency reserves and pledged to avoid imposing restrictions on energy exports.

However, there is uncertainty about the exact amount of oil and diesel reserves that Europe and the US intend to supply to the market to deal with the lack of supply and the unprecedented increase in prices.
