The Syrian president arrived in Riyadh for an official meeting with Saudi officials
Ahmed Sharia, the president of Syria, arrived in Riyadh, the capital of this country, to pay an official visit and meet with Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) published this report.
Mr. Sharia traveled to the Saudi capital for this official visit when relations between the two countries were strained during the rule of Bashar al-Assad.
Iran, which was one of the main supporters of the Assad regime, currently has no political connection with Syria.
An adviser to the Syrian Foreign Ministry recently said that the Islamic Republic of Iran must answer for its performance during the Bashar al-Assad era and the civil wars in Syria.
