Estimates point to a victory for the Quebec Independence Party in the elections of Quebec, Canada

The Canadian media estimates that the Independence Party "Quebec" will win the provincial elections on Monday in Quebec, but will not receive the majority of seats and Paul Saint-Pierre-Palmondon will become the new premier of this province.

It will be the first time since 2014 that the Parti Québécois will once again take power in Quebec. This result could be a test for Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, and provide the ground for controversy and conflict between the federal government and Quebec on issues such as immigration and the monarchy.

This party also promised to hold a referendum on the independence of Quebec; An action similar to the independence referendum that should be held in Alberta at the end of the month.

Quebec, whose majority population is French-speaking, previously held referendums on independence in 1980 and 1995. Polls show that only about 30% of Quebecers support the independence of this province. Plamondon said that this referendum will take place after the end of Donald Trump's term.
