🔻 Another warning from the US Treasury Department to companies that still maintain commercial and financial relations with Iran

OFEC, the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control, has again threatened "punitive action without prior warning" against companies and economic enterprises that still maintain commercial and financial ties with Iran.

In a message from Monday, October 5/13, Mahar Ofek said:

"Foreign financial institutions that continue to cooperate with Iran or the financial sector related to Iran are warned that they may be targeted for sanctions in the form of an "economic exclusion action". Foreign financial institutions that continue to conduct transactions with Iran's sanctioned financial institutions may be the target of US sanctions at any time without notice.

Ofek wants these institutions to act immediately to end these activities and sever their financial ties with the sanctioned parties. What the US Treasury called Iran's "economic exclusion operation" refers to the set of new measures taken by the Donald Trump administration, which is trying to force the country to negotiate its differences with the US by tightening the scope of economic sanctions on Iran.
