Secretary of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament; The Strait of Hormuz must remain closed
Behanem Sa'idi, the secretary of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament, said that the Strait of Hormuz should remain closed because "countries that thought they could make decisions for regional security and energy without considering Iran's role, faced a different reality today."
Mr. Saidi also said: "The Strait of Hormuz has become one of the most important variables in the global oil market today, and the continuation of this situation can transfer its effects from the energy market to inflation, production and economic growth of countries.
Iran does not seek to create insecurity in the energy market, but it will not allow its security and Iran's interests to be ignored. The way to reduce the pressure on the world market is to accept the reality of the region and respect Iran's positions.
