Pointing out that the risk of such an event is small and the probability of its occurrence is very small, he told the New York Times that in a situation where relations between the US and Canada are being redefined during the presidency of Donald Trump, it is his duty to consider all possible scenarios.

The implementation of Trump's extensive tariffs and his repeated insistence on making Canada an ambush of the US state have forced Canada to examine the US military ground attack scenario in the form of exercises and strategic simulations.

The White House announced in a statement to the BBC: "President Trump has done more to protect the great people of Canada than anyone else."

Military experts who spoke to the BBC also believe that the possibility of a military ground attack is very small. They indicate many ways for security cooperation between the two countries. However, the issue is clearly on the minds of Canadians.
