Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, said in his speech at the public assembly today, "The Americans, who say otherwise in the media, have recently made mediated proposals."

Without referring to the details of these proposals, Mr. Ghalibaf told the American side, "The era of buying time and dictating unilateral demands is over" and "The Strait of Hormuz will not open until our seven conditions based on the Islamabad Memorandum are met."

Mr. Ghalibaf, who was Iran's chief negotiator in the Islamabad negotiations, said: "We are neither excited nor threatened; we fight and negotiate. We are present in the military battlefield with all our might and will stand against new threats, and we will use the tools of diplomacy to establish our superiority in the Iranian military field and impose the right-wing military nation."
