On October 1, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the first combat use of the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile, manufactured by the Ukrainian company Fire Point. However, questions remain regarding the FP-9 long-range ballistic missile, which was promised to target Moscow in the summer of 2026.
The company has now postponed the testing and completion of the FP-9 to late autumn; the delay, along with large government budgets and unfulfilled promises, has raised questions about the actual progress of Ukraine's missile program.
Company executives blamed European regulations for making the production of solid rocket fuel more difficult. They also said there were unconfirmed reports that FirePoint's relationship with a sanctioned Ukrainian businessman disrupted agreements with the Danish government for rocket fuel production, a claim denied by the Danish government.
