Iran's judiciary announced that Siavash Jamshidi Kheirabadi, who was arrested in the interception camp in December 1404, was executed this morning.

Iran's judiciary announced that Siavash Jamshidi Kheirabadi, who was arrested in the interception camp in December 1404, was executed this morning.

In its statement, the judiciary accused Mr. Jamshidi of "numerous criminal records" and cited cases such as "carrying and possessing illegal weapons, fraud, theft, and participation in kidnapping" as examples.

The statement also said that Mr. Jamshidi shot at police officers on January 18 on Naser Khosrow Street in Shahrekord and then fled, but he was arrested two days later carrying a small firearm.

According to this announcement, Mr. Jamshidi's death sentence was carried out after being confirmed by the Supreme Court of Iran.

The execution of Mr. Jamshidi comes at a time when Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, in part of his recent speech at the UN General Assembly, referring to the 1404 interceptions, said: "Over the past seven months, our people have been on the streets every night to defend our Iran and not allow those caught by the US to provoke. He gave them weapons so they could come and create insecurity inside the country."
