British anti-assassination police have announced that two Iranian nationals have been charged with involvement in a "planned ground attack on Manchester's Jewish community".

Police have identified the two men as Rahman Salehi, 35, and Salam Ahmadian, 36, and said they are believed to have entered the UK in small boats.

Police also said the two men were in contact with a third person outside the UK, possibly in Iran, in connection with their "alleged plot".

They are scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, October 11.
