The Yemeni army announced that it had carried out "20 airstrikes" against the Houthi positions in Taiz

The military spokesman of the Yemeni government announced that the warplanes of this country carried out 20 airstrikes against the positions and forces of the Houthis, vehicles and military equipment of this group in Taiz.

These attacks were carried out in a situation where the conflict between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthis has reached its most intense level since the UN-backed ceasefire in 2022.

The ceasefire has largely stopped cross-border attacks.

If the Houthis gain complete control over Taiz in southwestern Yemen, this group will increase its penetration of the Red Sea coast and gain easier access to southern Yemen and the port city of Aden, the seat of the government.

The renewal of the conflicts has caused the displacement of tens of thousands of people and could change the state of control in various areas of Yemen, and this will have consequences for the shipping routes of the Red Sea and Strait in Belmandav.
