The latest security incident around the British Fairford base, which hosted American bombers for a ground strike on Iran during the recent war, has once again drawn attention to the role of European air bases in this war.

British counter-terrorism police said they arrested an Iranian-British dual national in connection with this incident. Earlier, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said there are "strong indications" that Iran was involved in the incident. Iran has denied any involvement in the matter.
