In recent days, New York state prosecutors have renewed their investigation into a woman's claim that she was raped at a student union at Cornell University in 2024.

The woman filed a civil lawsuit against Cornell on Sept. 16, alleging she was drugged and sexually assaulted at a campus club.

He also claimed that Cornell University failed to protect him or properly punish the people involved.

The men were called the "Cornell Seven" and the woman was identified in the court case as "Jane Doe" (to remain anonymous).

Cornell University said it supports presenting the case to a grand jury, rejecting claims that those involved have gone unpunished. She also agreed to have the case investigated by an independent investigator.

BBC asked students in Washington what they thought about this case.
