Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that one of the pilots of an Emirates flydubai aircraft, following a knife attack on another pilot, apparently attempted to crash the plane and has now been arrested.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that one of the pilots of an Emirates flydubai aircraft, following a knife attack on another pilot, apparently attempted to crash the plane and has now been arrested.

Mr. Netanyahu said he spoke with one of the Israeli passengers on the flight. This passenger described that the plane "began to spin and lost altitude."

According to the Israeli Prime Minister, the passenger said that he "somehow managed to enter the cockpit along with one of the crew members, and together they subdued the pilot who had carried out the stabbing; the pilot had made the attack while trying to disable the aircraft's systems."

Mr. Netanyahu said that another crew member "entered the cockpit and managed to return the plane to a stable condition." He praised the "heroes" who "saved many lives and prevented a major disaster."
