Narges Farooqi, the wife of Mr. Mortazawi, also published a video in which she says: "He entered Iran with his heart's desire to miss his homeland and stay with the people in war conditions."

Ms. Farooqi also says that "contrary to some rumors, Mr. Mortazawi has not traveled to Iran for years."
