🔻 Head of Parliament's National Security Committee: We are ready to respond to a worse war than the 40-day war

Ebrahim Azizi, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said his country is ready to respond to a war worse than the 40-day war.

He told the IRNA news agency: "If the US makes another miscalculation and takes action against Iran's national interests and security, it will face painful responses and strikes from the Islamic Republic."

Mr. Azizi also said that the Islamic Republic "has today reached great deterrence capabilities."

Mr. Azizi's remarks come as Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, on the eve of his return from New York to Tehran, told reporters about Monday's negotiations mediated by Qatar and emphasized that his country's seven-point plan was received by the US through Qatar, and he is now awaiting the White House's response.
