Reuters: The mediators expect their talks with Iran and the US to resume

The Reuters news agency, citing an "informed official", reported that the mediators expect to talk with Iran and the US separately today and tomorrow.

The Qatari mediators and Abbas Irakchi, Iran's foreign minister, are still in New York after the UN General Assembly.

Earlier, the IRNA news agency quoted a source close to the Iranian delegation in New York as reporting that it had no plans for negotiations with America and that Mr. Iraqichi was set to return to Iran on Tuesday (October 7).

IRNA quoted from its source that "the considerations and positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran were expressed clearly and transparently to the American side last Tuesday through the Qatari mediator, and Iran is awaiting the American response."

Yesterday, Donald Trump expressed his hope that negotiations with Iran will resume soon, even though the US president rejected Iran's latest offer.
