Saudi oil minister traveled to Washington to talk with Marco Rubio

The Saudi Foreign Ministry announced that Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the country's foreign minister, arrived in Washington on Monday to meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

This trip takes place as clashes between Riyadh and the Houthis in Yemen have intensified.

The official Saudi Press Agency announced that the two sides will discuss bilateral relations as well as important regional and international developments.

Sources told Reuters that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman asked the United States for military assistance this month to deal with the Iran-backed Houthis, but Washington did not agree to carry out airstrikes.

America agreed to provide Saudi Arabia with information and support related to targeting.
