In Italy, comments by Antonio Tajani, that country's deputy prime minister and foreign minister, that "a marriageable woman should wear a long skirt" sparked widespread controversy.
In response to these statements, politicians from the opposition published pictures with skirts on social networks, and 11 senators from the opposition parties appeared at the Senate meeting in an interception operation with "minijoop".
Antonio Tajani said on Friday, September 18, during an event, that women who "attract attention" may not be trustworthy and less loyal. He also said that this is why it is better to marry women who wear "longer skirts" and "attract less attention".
