One person was charged in the Tehran Marathon case

According to reports in the Iranian media, one person in the court case related to the holding of the two marathons in Tehran, which were held in Bustan and Liyat, was charged and released on bail.

According to these reports, the preliminary investigation of this case is still ongoing and the identity of the accused has been clarified and the name of the accused has not been released.

The coincidence of this marathon with the government's "Janpada" ceremony on September 27 met with a reaction from the judicial authorities.

The Prosecutor's Office in Tehran announced that during the holding of this competition, "legal and ethical standards" were not observed, and for this reason criminal charges were announced against the agents and organizers of the competition.

Following the investigation, the head of the athletics council and the general director for sports and youth of the district of Tehran, the officials of the general security and political department of the district and the adviser to the governor of Tehran who played a role in the licensing process were summoned to the prosecutor's office.
