The US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessant, says that delegations were sent to various countries on his orders to convince them to increase the economic pressure on Iran.

He wrote on Channel X that these efforts "have yielded results" and pointed to new restrictions against Iranian airlines and banks.

According to Mr. Basant, Turkey and Oman stopped the arrival of flights from Nair, and the United Arab Emirates also stopped all flights of Iranian airlines.

He also mentioned new banking restrictions. On Wednesday, the Central Bank of the Emirates halted the transactions of Mali Bank branches of Iran and accused that bank of violating regulations related to money laundering, financing of assassinations and arms distribution. Last week, Turkey also revoked the operating license of Bank Malat of Iran. The Wall Street Journal, in a report republished by the US Secretary of the Treasury, wrote that officials of this ministry talked to more than 50 countries in two weeks about a plan to increase economic pressure on Tehran.
