🔻 Warning from the Waterways Management Organization in the Persian Gulf about restricting the passage of some ships through the Strait of Hormuz

The Persian Gulf Waterways Management Organization has warned shipowners that some charter companies are forcing ships to use what the organization calls "unreliable" routes.

This institution said, in addition to the risk of financial and life damage to the ship, owner, captain and crew, such an action could result in restrictions on the next passage of that vessel through the Strait of Hormuz.

This institution also warned that if charter companies are found guilty, their names will be added to the list of "offending companies" and the passage of all vessels associated with them through the Strait of Hormuz will be restricted.

The Persian Gulf Waterways Management Organization also published a picture of the names sent to the organization by ship owners. In this letter, the shipowners apologized for the "unauthorized" crossing of the Strait of Hormuz and said that this crossing was done on the direct instructions of the charter company and without completing the formalities required by the waterway management body in the Persian Gulf. They also demanded that the name of the ship be removed from the list of the offending companies and vessels.
