Abbas Irakchi, Iran's foreign minister, says Tehran has seen Donald Trump's initial response to Iran's proposal, but America's official response through intermediaries has yet to be received.

According to him, Iran's conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the progress of the negotiations were presented to the mediators at his meetings in New York and conveyed to the American side through them.

Mr. Irakichi added: "We are waiting for final opinions to be conveyed to us by the mediators and based on that we will make a decision."

He emphasized that any move towards reopening the Strait of Hormuz depends on fulfilling Iran's conditions and said that Tehran "will not fall for them".

Iraqi previously said that Iran presented the seven-day plan to America through Qatar, which could lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz if Tehran's conditions are met. Donald Trump later announced that he rejected this proposal.
