According to this report, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held indirect negotiations with Abbas Iraqichi, Iran's foreign minister, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, and Qatari officials passed messages between the two sides.

Axios says that Iraqi has conveyed to the American side Iran's conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of nuclear negotiations. Iran's proposal includes the lifting of the naval blockade, the lifting of sanctions on the sale of oil and the establishment of a ceasefire in the entire region.

On the other hand, the Trump administration wants nuclear concessions from Iran, and this difference remains one of the main gaps between the two sides in the negotiations.
