Following an explosion in a tourist accommodation building in the historic center of Athens, the capital of Greece, six people were killed.

The force of the explosion caused the complete collapse of the three-story building, the surrounding buildings were damaged, and the debris was scattered in the street.

This explosion happened on a small street between two popular tourist attractions in Athens, the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus.

Four American tourists, one British citizen and one Greek citizen were killed in the explosion of this building.

From the photos published from the scene of the accident on Saturday, it appears that the rescue forces are searching among the ruins. A gas leak may have been the cause of the explosion.

The bodies of all six victims of this accident were recovered from the wreckage. The mayor of Athens described the incident as an "unbelievable tragedy".

Local media reported that a number of people were injured due to the impact of building materials and parts in the nearby streets and some buildings were also evacuated.
