One of the participants in this gathering, referring to the absence of Mujtaba Khamenei, the leader of Iran, in the public arena, said that Hassan Rouhani and his supporters are "a security factor [for the presence] of the leader". In these meetings, slogans were read against Hassan Rouhani, Mohammad Javad Zarif, his former deputy, and Mohammad Khatami, another former president of Iran.

Hassan Rouhani recently called for an "honorable end to the war" and said: "Apparently there are people who hate negotiations." He said: "We must end the war with dignity, according to the opinion of the overwhelming majority of the people, so that we can build the country, so that we can compensate for the damages."
