A spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Defense said that "the strategic capabilities of armed militant forces have been deployed in safe environments and underground infrastructures."

Brigadier General Reza Talainik said: "This is the reason why some of the enemy's calculations regarding the defense power and weapons production capacity of the Islamic Republic of Iran did not materialize."

According to him, "In recent wars, the enemy tried to apply economic pressure and cognitive warfare at the same time as military pressure, and by creating dissatisfaction and disrupting the administration of the state, this affected society from the inside."

The Iranian authorities constantly warn of any renewal of internal interceptions.

The interceptions in December last year were met with bloody repression by the government. This crackdown is known as the deadliest encounter with protesters in Iran's modern history.
