The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen announced that it had intercepted drones and ballistic missiles belonging to this group.

The spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition said that the air defense of this coalition "intercepted and destroyed two drones launched by the Houthi assassination militia towards Riyadh".

This spokesman added that the Saudi air defense also intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis that were aimed at the city of Hamis Moshit in the southwest of the country.

The Houthis in Yemen, supported by Iran, carried out new attacks, including against Riyadh, and continued their attacks despite international condemnations.

The UN Security Council previously condemned the escalation of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and said that these attacks harmed "civilians, including women and children". By imposing a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia, the Houthis attacked the country's oil tankers, seized parts of Yemen's Red Sea coast, important for oil exports, and caused energy prices to rise.
