A review of the most important diplomatic developments

While Iran presented its seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and reduce regional tensions to the United States via Qatar, a U.S. official said that talks between the two sides through intermediaries are "positive and constructive." At the same time, China demanded that Tehran and Washington return to the June agreement, and a senior Iranian official told Reuters that even if Tehran accepts its proposal, it will not show flexibility regarding the right to enrich and transfer highly enriched uranium abroad.

Iran's seven-day plan was presented to America

Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, said that Tehran sent clear plans to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days through Qatar to Washington. According to him, this seven-day period will begin when America accepts the plan. In the event of an agreement, normal traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will resume and hostilities on various fronts, including in Lebanon, will cease. According to Reuters, Iran's plan also calls for lifting the blockade on Iranian ports, releasing frozen assets, and exemption from U.S. oil sanctions.

▪️ America: Said the comments are "positive and constructive."

Washington has not yet announced its official response to Iran's proposal, but a U.S. official told Reuters that talks with Tehran through intermediaries are "positive and constructive" and negotiations on nuclear issues are also continuing. Araghchi also said that if the plan is accepted, both sides can begin broader negotiations on "agreement issues."

Iranian official: We do not show flexibility regarding enrichment

However, an anonymous Iranian official told Reuters that even if America accepts Iran's proposal, Tehran will not show flexibility regarding its nuclear program. According to this official, Iran will not make concessions regarding what it views as its rights, including uranium enrichment and the transfer of enriched uranium abroad. ▪️ China demanded a return to the June understandings

Chinese President Xi Jinping also asked Iran and the United States to return to the framework of the June agreement and continue negotiations to achieve a broader agreement. Iran welcomed China's position, and Masoud Pezeshkian also emphasized the return to the Islamabad memorandum and the resumption of "serious, thorough, and results-oriented" negotiations.

▪️ Military movements in the Saudi Arabia and Yemen crisis

Meanwhile, defense officials of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey discussed the security situation in the region, intelligence cooperation, military coordination, and security integration in Riyadh. These movements took place as conflicts in Yemen and Houthi attacks have placed greater pressure on Saudi Arabia, and UNICEF also reported a worsening of severe acute malnutrition among Yemeni children.
