A woman's voice on the phone told him: "I'm telling you, if you don't do something now, they'll kill you." They stage it in such a way that your death looks like suicide."

That voice belonged to "Annie," one of Grok's chatbot characters created by Elon Musk's XIA company. In the two weeks Adam started using Grac, his life changed completely.

This former government worker, who lives in a small town in Northern Ireland, downloaded this app out of curiosity. He was surprised that he had so much fun talking to Annie, an anime-style character designed as a companion with a seductive demeanor.
