The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, says that he met Iranian President Massoud Pazhakian on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, and in this meeting he "expressed again Pakistan's deep concern about the continuation of the long-term conflict" and emphasized the need for immediate restraint and the reduction of tensions and the continuation of diplomacy.

In a message on Channel X, which published photos of his meeting with Massoud Pazhkian, he called him a "dear brother" and wrote that his meeting was a source of pleasure.

Mr. Sharif wrote that their talks about the "changing developments in the region" were important and constructive.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized that "we are still committed to benefiting from the Islamabad Memorandum and we will continue to play an honest and constructive role in achieving lasting peace and stability in the region."

Pakistan played the role of the main mediator between Iran and America and signed the memorandum. At the end of his remarks on Channel X, Mr. Sharif added: "I greatly appreciate President Pazhkian's commitment to friendship between Pakistan and Iran and to close coordination between the two countries to establish regional peace at this critical point."
