The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Iran meet in New York

Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and Abbas Irakchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, met and talked on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan wrote in a post on the X social network that the two sides discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments in this meeting.

To Pakistan, Mr Dar emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and continuous interaction in order to strengthen regional peace and stability, and "the sides agreed to maintain their close relationship".

Pakistan is one of the main mediators between Iran and America.
