A military adviser to the Houthis in Yemen has warned that the organization will launch a ground attack on US interests in the Middle East if the US intervenes to support Saudi Arabia in Yemen's conflicts or tries to reopen the Bebelmandab Strait.

Abdul Mohammed al-Tour told AFP: "If America dares to intervene militarily with its navy or try to take control of Babylon, it's a red line for them and for any other party" and continued that "we will fight for it."

The Iran-backed Houthis recently took control of this narrow shipping lane, considered the gateway to the Red Sea. Meanwhile, reports indicate that Saudi Arabia has requested military assistance from the United States and the international community against the Houthis. The siege of Babylon by the Houthis put pressure on Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter.

This situation, along with traffic restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz due to the war between America and Iran, increased the price of oil.
