🔻 Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry: the interaction with America was mediated by Qatari

Ismail Bakai, a spokesman for Iran's foreign ministry, said of the reports of Abbas Iraqichi's "statement" with Steve Witkoff, Mr. Trump's representative on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, "the interaction with the American side was through the Qatari mediator."

Mr. Bakai said, "In the last week, the positions and views of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding issues related to the Strait of Hormuz, regional security and Iran's conditions for diplomacy were expressed, and today the opportunity of the presence of our country's delegation in New York was used to clearly reflect these matters to the American side."

The statements by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman come after reports of Mr. Irakichi's conversation with Steve Witkoff received wide coverage in Iran.
