Yahya Rahim Safavi, former commander of the Revolutionary Guards and advisor and assistant to the leader of the Islamic Republic, said in a television interview: "We have 10 million trained Basij who can protect any region in a mosaic manner."

He said these things about the possibility of deployment of ground forces by the US and said that in his opinion he is the adviser and military assistant of Mujtaba Khamenei, the new leader of the Islamic Republic: "The Americans will be destroyed wherever they are deployed in the country."

Mr. Rahim Safavi also emphasized in similar statements by other senior officials in this country: "Opening the Strait of Hormuz is contrary to accepting Iran's conditions." This former commander of the Revolutionary Guards claimed that Washington's pressure is the "main obstacle" to creating an agreement between Iran and Oman on the traffic route in the Strait of Hormuz, but he believes that this situation will cause: "Not only the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its previous state, but also the Mandav border."
