Following his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump said that his government is looking for a "fundamental change" in the situation in Cuba and claimed that the communist government of that country is under "greatest pressure" and will "collapse". According to him, Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, is negotiating with Cuba.

Trump also said that the United States will not allow Cuba to become a base for threats to the United States by "foreign enemies" and added: "Communism will never come to America, but liberation will come to Cuba."
