Trump: I hope we reach an agreement with Iran after the election

Continuing his speech at the UN General Assembly, Donald Trump said that America must maintain pressure on Iran and added that the US Navy has so far escorted more than a billion barrels of oil from the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, more oil is now passing through this route than at any time since the beginning of the war.

Trump then said that he was facing a "big decision" against Iran: either an agreement would be reached that would allow Iran to rebuild and become a "much bigger" country, or America would go the military route. At the same time he said: "I think we will reach an agreement right after the elections, because it doesn't make sense that they won't make an agreement."
