He told Iran's Avoda news agency, ILNA: "Currently, only one of the Mahan airlines has imposed restrictions on its flight schedule to some specific destinations, including Muscat, Istanbul and Ankara, and this decision will not be extended to other airlines."

He also said: "The new sanctions imposed by the US on several airlines, 27 airlines of our country were included in the list of sanctions, but this does not mean the suspension of foreign flights of the country."

The new US restrictions on Iranian airlines will enter a new implementation phase on Wednesday, September 23.
