The five television networks CNN, CBS, ABC, Fox and NBC, which are responsible for video coverage of presidential news in the United States, said in a joint statement announcing these sanctions: "It is the basic right of the people to receive accurate and independent information about their government. "No government should restrict a news organization simply because it disagrees with its reporting."

CNN is one of these five media outlets that exclusively prepares video reports on the events of the American presidency and provides the images in the form of "press credits" to other media outlets, including the three media outlets whose reporters have not been allowed to enter the White House since Saturday.
