Qatar Energy: Repairing Ras Laffan's two damaged units could take three years

Saad Kaabi, CEO of Qatar Energy, says it may take up to three years to repair Alanji's two production units in the Ras Laffan complex that were damaged in the last war. According to him, these attacks took 17% of Qatar's liquefied gas production capacity off track.

Mr. Kaabi also said that the first unit of the North Sde Mizrah gas field development project will go into production in the first half of 2027, but the launch of the next units depends on the status of the Strait of Hormuz.

He added that the equipment needed for this project cannot yet enter Qatar due to the disruption in the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar Energy also said yesterday that the Straits of Hormuz crisis could delay some of its development projects. This company currently produces only a very small amount of Angie.

Mr. Kaabi said that if the Strait of Hormuz was reopened, Qatar's normal gas operations could be resumed within weeks.
