Trump signed the Russia and Iran Sanctions Act

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, signed the decision of the Congress of this country to apply extensive sanctions against Russia and to extend the sanctions against Iran.

In addition to extending current US sanctions against Iran, this law expands sanctions, tariffs and other restrictions on Russia.

This law includes sanctions against Russian officials, financial institutions and other entities, as well as measures in the Russian energy and trade sector, and allows the US president to impose tariffs of up to 100% on major importers of Russian oil and natural gas.

This decision by the US Congress also extends the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 for five years and maintains the authority of the United States to impose sanctions against Tehran.
