According to the news agencies, the Turkish Banking Supervisory Authority (BDDK) revoked the operating license of the "Melet" bank branch of Iran in Istanbul.

This action coincides with American pressure on other countries to increase economic pressure on Tehran.

The information published on Saturday in Turkey's "Official Gazette" reads: "It was decided to cancel the operating license of the central branch of Bank Melat in Istanbul, Turkey."

According to Reuters, the wording of this announcement does not refer to the actions of the United States or to specific operational problems, but it says: the said decision was made based on a section of the Turkish Banking Law; A section that allows the bank's license to be revoked or revoked if it is determined that the continued operation of a bank endangers the rights of depositors or the safety and stability of the financial system.

Earlier this month, the US Treasury Department sanctioned a small Turkish investment bank and two of its subsidiaries. The US Treasury Department also announced that Turkey and Oman, following talks with these two countries about compliance with US actions against Iran, decided to stop flights from Nair to their countries.
