Mahan Airlines announced in two separate announcements that the flights of this company on the Tehran-Muscat line, as well as flights from Iran to Turkey, including Istanbul, Ankara and vice versa, will be canceled.
According to the announcement related to Oman, Tehran-Muscat-Tehran Mahan flights will be canceled from September 17, 2026 until further notice.
In another announcement, Mahan announced that the company's flights to Turkey will be canceled from September 21, 2026 until further notice. Mahan's last flights on the routes Tehran-Istanbul, Tehran-Ankara and vice versa will be operated on September 20.
Mahan said in both announcements that this decision was made based on the announcement of the "competent aviation authorities" of Oman and Turkey.
The cancellation of these flights was announced as the US escalated sanctions against Iran's aviation sector and Mahan Airlines' support networks in recent weeks. Mahan has been under US sanctions since 2011 for allegedly supporting the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force.
