Media close to the Turkish government: Iran and Israel's captives seek to weaken the Mecca Agreement

In an article written by Yahya Bostan, pro-Turkish government newspaper Yeni Shafaq claimed that recent attacks by Iran-backed groups, including Yemen's Houthis, on Saudi Arabia are part of a regional "conspiracy" aimed at undermining the Mecca Agreement between Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

In his September 15 article, Yahya Bostan claimed that both Israel and Iran seek to weaken Mecca's emerging coalition and increase pressure on Riyadh. The title of his article also describes this situation as "a clear plot against the Meccan coalition".

Boston wrote that Israel's captives are worried about a "Mecca alliance" because the formation of a rival bloc could "threaten" its interests and also because Riyadh was in the past "one of the pillars of the regional architecture that focused on captivity." He claimed that the war in Gaza and the creation of "diplomatic networks with the support of Turkey" following it, distanced Riyadh from normalizing relations with Israeli prisoners; While the Makkah agreement also "threatens" the captives' plans to integrate Saudi Arabia into the regional economic and diplomatic architecture.

Yahya Bostan also claimed that Iran simultaneously seeks to exert pressure on Saudi Arabia through its regional allies.
