European governments have begun to reduce pension costs As the "Daily Telegraph" reports, state authorities are taking such measures to reduce the budget deficit, risking losing the support of older voters. In particular, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom proposed to change the pension linkage mechanism from 2030 and remove the wage growth index from it. The Romanian government, under pressure from the European Union, decided to freeze the state allowances for two years starting in 2025, and in the Czech Republic they further reduced the linkage to the index. In addition, in France it was proposed to limit the linking of payments to pensioners to 1,260 euros per month, and the Slovak authorities plan to link the retirement age to life expectancy.
