The State Duma proposed to waive the introduction of fines for dangerous driving. The relevant committee recommended rejecting the bill, which stipulates fines of between 3,000 and 5,000 rubles and revocation of a driver's license for a period of up to three months. The examination of the initiative is scheduled for November 12. The main reason was legal uncertainty: the current wording of the traffic laws does not allow a clear distinction to be made between a dangerous maneuver and a normal driving style. According to the deputies, this creates a risk of abuse when punishments are given. In addition, the committee considered revoking a driver's license as an excessive measure.
