Starting December 1, 2026, a new procedure for returning tickets for long-distance trains will come into effect: instead of a fixed fee of 3.7 rubles, a commission of 1% to 10% of the ticket price will be charged, depending on the time before departure. The rates will be: 1% for returns within 45 days or more, 3% for 30-44 days, 5% for 10-29 days and 10% for less than 9 days. This measure applies to tickets purchased after December 1, 2026, and is intended to reduce the number of late refunds (in 2025, their number exceeded 25 million, or 23% of total traffic).
